Descaling Equipment
When steel comes into contact with air, it will oxidize and form a layer of hard skin (scale, rust) on the surface. If it is not removed before rolling, the oxide will be carried to the surface of the steel during the rolling process. During the production of hot-rolled steel billets, the furnace scale on the surface of the billet is one of the main reasons that affect the surface quality of the billet. Its presence can cause various product defects such as dents, spots, and pressed oxide film on the surface of the billet, severely affecting the quality of the steel. Currently, the most effective method for removing scale is to use the impact force of high-pressure water to remove the oxide rust.
The traditional method for removing scale is low-pressure removal, which requires a large amount of fresh water. Nowadays, high-pressure nozzles and high-pressure water can be used to save water resources. The speed of removing scale can also be adjusted by changing the pressure of the nozzle, regulating the production capacity, and water consumption. Compared with traditional methods, high-pressure water technology for removing scale has the advantages of a wide range of applicable steel grades, high removal rate, and low comprehensive cost. It has been widely used in hot forging and has become the mainstream method for removing scale from hot-rolled steel billets.
When the hot-rolled steel billet to be processed passes through the ultra-high pressure scale removal equipment, the high-pressure water generated by the high-pressure pump passes through the high-pressure nozzle to form a high-speed jet stream of water. Under the erosion and peeling of the water flow and the thermal explosion effect, the scale on the surface of the billet quickly falls off, and the scale removal work is completed.
By installing high-pressure water scale removal equipment on the production line of billets, better scale removal effects can be achieved with less water consumption. The speed of the production line can be increased, and the heat loss of the billet can be reduced, thus improving the production capacity and quality of the rolled steel. Using high-pressure water for cleaning and passing it through a high-pressure nozzle for powerful cleaning, the oxide scale will expand and contract due to thermal expansion, and detach from the surface of the steel, separating it from the iron material and removing the oxide scale thoroughly.
